The U11 AA Bulls travelled to Mississauga on the weekend for
their first game action competing in the Mississauga North Tigers
Tournament. For these young players it was the first time they would take
the field together as a team.
Friday night would see them cruise to a comfortable 13-2 win
over Oshawa. Saturday would see the young Bulls drop both games, 11-10 to
Royal York Brown and then 5-3 to Richmond Hill. In both contest the boys
outhit their opponents but made some costly errors, a sign of a young team just
starting to get used to each other.
With a record of one win and two losses, they would head to the Silver side of
the bracket. In the semi final the boys played their most complete game
of the weekend on route to a 10-4 victory over Royal York Snelgrove setting up
a rematch with Oshawa in the Silver final. The final was all you would it
to be with the teams trading blows offensively. Again the Bulls would
outhit their opponent but in the end would fall short by a score of
13-11.
The coaching staff was extremely happy with the performance of the team over the
weekend. The boys were competitive in each game and battled hard in some
tough situations. With some more reps with their club teams, expectations
going into Caledon are now extremely high!
Great job Bulls!!!!
